Two of the Ramones are buried at this cemetery: Dee Dee (original bass player) and Johnny (original guitar player).

Dee Dee Ramone (aka Douglas Colvin) died on June 5, 2002 of a heroin overdose.

Johnny Ramone (aka John Cummings) died on September 15, 2004 from prostrate cancer.

While Dee Dee is buried here (his tombstone reads "O.K...I gotta go now."), Johnny was cremated. His ashes are placed in the base of a bronze statue created in his honor.

bukowski’s junior high

Back when this junior high was known as Mount Vernon Junior High School, Charles Bukowski went to school here (1933-1936).

It is now named Cochran Middle School in honor of lawyer to the famous, Johnnie Cochran, who also went to school here.
