Ralph Lifshitz was born on October 14, 1939, and grew up at this home in the Bronx in the 1950s (two blocks away from fashion designer Calvin Klein). After changing his name to Ralph Lauren at the age of 16, the fashion designer went on to found the Polo Ralph Lauren company.
